What is a network? 

A network is two or more computers connected together by cables or Wi-Fi.

Some computer networks operate over a server, a server is a powerful computer acting as a central hub.
This allows software, applications and files to be shared across all users. It also lets you share hardware such as printers and scanners. 

Common network types 

Local Area Network (LAN) – Networks that connect in a relatively close proximity of each other such as within a building of campus.

Wide Area Network (WAN) – A large network of information that is not tied to a single location. Typically connected using telephone lines and satellite communications.
